Dacor Oven & Stove Repair
Chicago and suburbs
An oven that will not hold temperature ruins food before it tells you anything is wrong. We carry bake elements, igniters, thermostats and control boards for gas and electric ranges.
Dacor is known for luxury built-in cooking and refrigeration, and on the service side that means specialist parts sourcing and cabinet-fit installation. Our technicians work on these machines every week and carry the parts that fail most often on them.
Ovens rarely fail all at once. They drift - ten degrees, then twenty-five - and by the time baking is visibly wrong, the thermostat or sensor has been out of calibration for months.
We use OEM Dacor components wherever they are available, because on this brand aftermarket substitutes are a common cause of repeat failures. Every repair carries the same written 90-day warranty on parts and labour.
Symptoms
Dacor Oven & Stove Repair - faults we fix every week
If your appliance is doing any of the following, it is a repair we handle routinely and usually finish in one visit.
- Oven heats but never reaches the set temperature
- Food burns on one side and stays raw on the other
- Gas burner clicks but never lights
- Surface element stays cold or will not adjust
- Broil works but bake does not, or the reverse
- Oven door will not close square or seal
- Control panel dead, frozen or showing an error
- Gas smell when a burner is turned on
What actually fails
Bake element or igniter. On an electric range, an open bake element leaves broil working and bake dead. On a gas range, a weak igniter no longer draws enough current to open the safety valve. Same symptom, different part.
Temperature sensor and thermostat. The most common cause of a drifting oven. The sensor loses calibration, the control believes it, and every recipe runs cold or hot. Replacement takes minutes and restores accuracy.
Burner ports and spark module. A gas burner that clicks without lighting usually has clogged ports or a spilled-on spark electrode. If every burner clicks at once, the spark module is at fault.
Surface elements and infinite switches. Electric cooktops fail at the element or at the switch that meters power to it. Testing tells the two apart quickly.
Door hinges and gasket. A door that will not sit square lets heat escape, which reads to the customer as a heating fault. Hinges and gaskets are inexpensive and restore even baking.
